In this lesson I learned that there exist terms for different skill-sets (receptive skills which involve listening and reading, and productive skills which involve speaking and writing). This lesson reinforced the importance of choosing overall content for a language course that will be of interest to all students and the teacher. The lesson also reinforced that receptive skills are used during each phase of the lesson (Engage, Study, Activate). From this lesson I also learned about the different ways that people read and listen (such as using predictive skills or skimming).
