The unit covered the 2 productive skills, speaking and writing. When it comes to speaking the teacher has to take into consideration 2 main aspects, accuracy and fluency. They are both equally important and performed in different stages of the lesson. Drilling is a good exercise to practice accuracy, while role-play is very efficient for fluency. When fluency is practiced, mistakes should be addressed later on, not while the student is speaking, so the flow of the conversation is not interrupted. When preparing for a writing activity, the teacher has to take into consideration other aspects, such as spelling, punctuation or handwriting. Writing is equally important, and rather difficult, so a great deal of time should be spent on writing tasks, either in class (planning wisely), or by motivating the student to study at home.
