Phonology is the study of the properties of sound. Intonation is the variation in volume and pitch in the whole sentence while stress is more concerned with individual words. Techniques for indicating and teaching intonation includes nonsense words with certain attitudes, gesturing with a certain intonation, humming, singing, or drawing on the board. The two simple rules for stress are that only one word has only one stress and only syllables are stressed. Techniques for teaching pronunciation include peer dictation, your own mouth, visuals, phonemes, and tongue twisters. I learned that it is very difficult to describe and teach intonation and that intonation is regarded as one fo the most difficult aspects of the English language.
