In this unit, I learned about the pronunciation and sounds of English words. I learned about what words get stressed in a sentence, and how to use my tongue, breath, and voice to create certain sounds used often in English. I learned about difficulties students might face with pronunciation, and exercises that might help them practice proper pronunciation when forming sentences and single words. I learned that, often in English, words can be pronounced differently depending on the words that precede and succeed them. What I learned in this unit will help me teach students how to communicate in English effectively, clearly, and confidently.
