In this unit I've learnt the basics of stress, phonemes and mouth placement when speaking. Stress is quite an abstract concept to teach so I have benefited from learning teaching practices such as using choral work or getting students to mark the areas of stress in a sentence. The introduction to phonemic principles e.g. the different placement of the tongue, lips and other parts of the mouth when pronouncing words is also very useful as a teaching aid, as well as for myself to understand areas in which native speakers of another language that doesn't share all the phonemes of English may have trouble. I found it very helpful to learn about phonemic demonstration techniques eg using mouth diagrams, self-demonstration and using tongue twisters.
