Despite offering a low cost of living compared to other major cities around the world, Seoul is a thoroughly modern destination with excellent infrastructure. Seoul remains a popular destination for TEFL teachers as it enables them to have a high standard of living no matter which part of the city they choose to live in.
Seoul is a cosmopolitan destination with over 700,000 foreigners calling the city home. Multi-national areas such as Itaewon and Hannam offer visitors the tastes of home while living side-by-side with the locals. Throughout your time in Seoul, you will have the opportunity to sample the delight that is Korean cuisine and there are numerous restaurants where you can try out some the country’s most delicious dishes.
With an excellent transport infrastructure, Seoul is an easy city to get around and there are many easy ways to get out of the city using the subway system or the KTX bullet train. Nowhere in the country is more than a few hours away from Seoul.
Despite being a big city, Seoul is not an intimidating one and the locals are keen for foreign visitors to feel welcome and get a positive impression of the city and country as a whole. Many important services such as utility companies employ English speaking contact staff to help you when settling in and make your move to South Korea as smooth as possible.

Our training center in Seoul is situated on the north side of the river near to Bukcheon and the Grand Gyunbok Palace. We are also close to the Cheonggyecheon River a popular recreation space ideal for walks after a big dinner. The area offers many other attractions including a local artisan market, a street food market and plenty of restaurants. Whatever your budget, you are bound to find something you like in this part of the city.
Close to the training center are two subway stops making getting around to other parts of Seoul easy. The center is open 7 days a week and we have wonderful views of the city. On the first floor is a café where you can enjoy a break or have a coffee while catching up on some course work.
Our trainers have plenty of experience in the TEFL industry as well as living and working in South Korea. They will teach you all you need to know in order to have a successful start to your teaching career and they can provide useful insights into living and working in Korea. During the course you will learn about different teaching methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and more. You will also get to see experienced teachers at work in the classroom. We have a wealth of resources available to you to help you throughout your course.
Accommodation
There are options for each budget close to the centre and no more than a fifteen minute bus or subway ride away.
1. Shared House
Price range: approx $10 per night
Rental places separate from a private room where residents can gather together to share a house or apartment. Shared houses have lower initial and monthly costs compared to regular rental apartments or hotels.
2. Guesthouses $30 per night
There are several tourist guesthouses near to the training school which range from simple Korean style rooms to more western style bedrooms with a private bathroom. Many provide simple breakfasts for guests and some include dinner.
3. AIRBNB
Price range: approx $30 per night
Airbnb offers many different types of rooms or apartments you can choose from. Prices range from low to high.
4. Business Hotels/Designer Hotels
Price range: approx $60 per night
For a cleaner, more comfortable stay, there are many reasonably priced business hotels in the area such as the IBIS Ambassador or designer hotels such as Hotel The Designers Seoul, Shilla Stay.
5. High End Hotels
Price range: approx $90 per night
Well known names such as the Hilton, Hyatt and the Sheraton are also available if you are looking for accommodation at a higher price range.
