I've learned from this unit that there are four things that students need to do with learning a new language: be exposed to it, understand the meaning, understand how it is constructed and be able to practice and produce it. I've learned that grammar, vocabulary, and functions are all intertwined with teaching a new language in a balanced and manageable way. I've learned that there are many teaching styles but having flexibility allows for students to stay engage and retained, for example using a patchwork or boomerang approach as opposed to the straight and arrow approach.
