TEFL 120-hour Course - Unit 7

This episode of Chantelleâ€™s TEFL course video diary looks at unit 7. Unit 7 deals with techniques for teaching new language whether this is grammar, vocabulary or functions. The unit provides different ways of teaching new language with sample lesson plans and suitable activities. Chantelle provides a good tip for potential students of ITTTâ€™s online courses, which is to print off the course units as you access them and keep them in a folder so that you can easily go back to previous units and refresh your memory on what you have previously studied.

From this Unit iâ€™ve learned how to determine the level of the student. Itâ€™s very helpful for me as being a teacher I carry out language skill tests both oral and written to decide which group that student is suitable for. I also noticed that children from 13 years old are often unmotivated and unwilling to ask questions while the very young learners are not afraid of making mistakes and take the leading roles in different activities and games. It was very helpful to me just to learn more about roles of the teacher and the description of each of them.
