People are quite selective and how to read or listen depending on their mode of research for information or just for the pleasure of reading (favorite book) or listening (favorite music artist). Materials for teaching have to be well selected before the lesson or students can find it too difficult or simply lose confidence in their understanding skills. Build interests from the beginning use a variety of different topics or texts to motivate students and cover all different audience.
