Unit seven was about the three pillars of teaching a new language: vocabulary, grammar, and functions. I found this unit very helpful in its clear explanations of these three topics, as well as the sample lesson plans generally associated with each. Seeing how each of the ESA method teaching patterns can be applied to such important topics has given me confidence in being able to teach them in the classroom. I think the best method is the patchwork, because of its open flexibility and the many chances it offers to further study then activate if students need.
