Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Unit 16 covered conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences that connect 2 clauses of past, present or future. Typically this achieved through "if"/"when" expressions. Therefore, conditionals have two clauses, the "if" clause and the main clause. There are 5 main conditionals; zero, first, second, third, and mixed. Also covered in this unit was reported speech and direct speech. I had the most difficulty with this section as I was surprised by some of the reported speech time expressions (for example 'yesterday' becomes 'the day before').
