Reasons to Get TEFL Certified
To be completely honest with you, I didn´t think that a TEFL course would benefit me significantly or improve my teaching until I took one. I have studied eight languages on three continents and I also speak four languages daily.

My Study Experience
I have studied in top universities for years and worked as a teacher, coach, educator, trainer, international business manager and team leader for higher education publishers. "Aren't these courses very expensive and what could I possibly learn?", I asked myself… It wasn't until the online company that I have been working for a few years made having a TEFL or TESOL certificate a mandatory requirement that I researched the market.
I went through dozens of companies and reviews and finally settled and signed up for an online ITTT TEFL/TESOL master course package. To my great surprise, I was able to do the entire course from my home instead of sitting in a classroom far away from home. That is a huge benefit when you live in a metropolis with severe congestion during rush hours. And there were perfect packages with significant discounts, flexibility, and follow-up higher-level course options. The prices were reasonable, and I was also able to continue working like I normally would. Once I started studying, I realized that I had been wrong all along, this was an important course.

Benefits of The TEFL Certification
There are many reasons why having an official TEFL/TESOL certification is beneficial. Whether it's because your employer requires a certification or for your self-improvement, obtaining a certification is dedication and professionalism defined. Earning certifications can also be a key to enjoying one's work more, simply because one becomes a better and more knowledgeable teacher. It is also key to looking for new opportunities if that is interesting. It can open doors you did not even know existed, as you will also learn more about the global community of English Language Teaching.
I feel that obtaining a certificate helps one earn credibility and respect for employers, students, and colleagues. It opens more opportunities for advancement and sometimes even increase one's earning potential by 10-100%. My commitment proves my willingness to invest in my development, demonstrates the commitment to the teaching profession and improves my skills and knowledge. I also feel more confident as a professional teacher. The thought "I'm not even a real teacher" became history. Most importantly, in the end, it is my students who benefit from improved lessons and intelligent teaching strategies.

I rehearsed and reviewed grammar and was able to keep the study material for future reference. Considering it has been a few decades since one studied English grammar in high-school this study was long overdue. Studying theories, methods and techniques suitable for teaching new languages felt extremely important.
