The receptive skills are equally important as the productive skills. The teacher should be aware of this and not just focus more on the productive skills for example. Beginners will of course focus a bit more on the receptive skills. Teaching an isolated skill e.g. reading is not advisable, a good lesson must contain an integration of all the skills. Exposing the pupils to a variety of material is a necessity. Moreover it will motivate them.
