In unit 10, we watched two different presentations of the same lesson content. I found this to be very useful in analyzing what behaviors a teacher can have that make a class less productive and make the students uninterested and less likely to participate effectively. The contrast between the two was clear, and it illustrated the importance of lesson planning. When the first lesson started, the teacher walked in unprepared and didn't seem to know what they were doing. They had to look at the lesson plan to even know where to begin. The second lesson showed much better lesson planning that also allowed for flexibility. It made me want to really hone those preparation skills because uninterested students are really intimidating to me. I wish to emulate the way the second lesson showed a rapport being built between student and teacher that created a fun and engaging environment.
