As we know, there are four significant skills for each English language learner, including: Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. In order to learn these ones effectively, grammar element plays an important role that helps the leaner to improve, also. Nevertheless, learning grammar is not easy for the student, because they sometimes find it difficult and boring. As a result, this challenges each teacher need to have interesting methods in teaching grammar unit. Grammar is the system of a language. It is sometimes described as the "rules" of a language; but in fact no language has rules. If we use the word "rules", we suggest that somebody created the rules first and then spoke the language, like a new game. But languages did not start like that. Languages started by people making sounds which evolved into words, phrases and sentences. No commonly-spoken language is fixed. All languages change over time. What we call "grammar" is simply a reflection of a language at a particular time. Learning grammar is so hard, isn’t it? Actually, English learner will give many reasons to explain why they feel uneasy and boring when studying grammar, for example: - lots of grammar rules to remember - do some grammar exercises - get a homework assignment - etc. However, we can not deny the importance of learning grammar. Correct grammar is your key to speak English fluently and confidently. Knowing grammar will help you avoid errors that make your English sound strange to foreigners. Besides, this is equally necessary if you wish to study abroad. Colleges and universities are likely to assess your academic English based largely on your knowledge of English grammar. Furthermore, it creates the job seeking opportunities for leaner. For example, if you’re going for a job interview in an English-speaking country, the employer will be interested in the quality of your spoken and written English. In fact, in a recent survey of U.K. job recruiters, 50% said that bad spelling and grammar was the biggest reason they would dislike an application. So along with many given advantages when holding grammar knowledge steady, how do we need to learn? After doing some research as well as reading some articles, in my opinion, we can follow these steps to learn English grammar:  Step 1: Learn the parts of speech Every single word can be categorized into one of eight word groups, or parts or parts of speech, including: - Nouns - Pronouns - Verbs - Adjectives - Adverbs - Prepositions - Conjunctions - Interjections  Step 2: Learn tenses All complete sentences contain a subject and a verb. It is expressed by different tenses. We need to find out and understand clearly 12 basic stences  Step 3: Learn phrases There are many different kinds of phrases. That forces you to remember by yourself. We should them in different contexts to memorize more effectively.  Step 4: Learn clauses All clauses include a subject, a verb and an object. Some clauses can stand alone (independent clause) and some can not (dependent clause)  Step 5: Learn irregular cases In each grammar rule, there will be a few irregular cases. Noting this also helps us have an eye more detailed to grammar knowledge.  Step 6: Practice makes perfect Doing exercises to drill and review the grammar part usually will enhance your knowledge. It leads to your fast progression. Learning grammar effectively also require the teacher’s methods. If we would like to be a skilled teacher, it is necessary for us to have large grammar knowledge at first, and then, we should make an effort to transmit knowledge by the most interesting way. It may be through games, your stories, or visual aids. They completely depend on your teaching contents. Briefly, grammar is not a difficult part when you study English as long as you really love English and desire to win English mountain.
