Why students need to be motivated? (Motivating students) Abstract Students who are well-motivated have always suceeded in all areas of thier Education.This study of motivating student is the carrier of understanding in motivating benefits applying different kinds of motivational activities and encouraging the student which it may helps for every individuals, as well as developing and testing these strategies.Motivating are one of the most important key that can improve their growth and build up the lack of confidence that every students needs. Introduction During my college days one of my professor always reminds us to become motivated not only for the study but in every thing that we are doing, because he believes that being motivated with fully heartedly and passionately you will be a successful person in the future. So he always advice that we should always ask question so that we can get knowledge and encouragement to keep being motivated. He said that “If we stopped asking why, we would cease to grow in our understanding of life.” Motivating students are a better influencers in their choosen chareer path as a well as their understanding are more creative and idealistic. Students have a good knowledge, dedication, experiences but also more is required to improve their leadership development, their speaking power to do great work or to be more excited for learning.There are two kinds of Motivation Intrinsic motivation and Extrinsic motivation. Each has its own strategies to stimulate motivation for learning.Why students need to be motivated? According to Melissa Hursts, Ph,D.Pschology. Motivation is state that energizes directs and sustain behavior and the second one is Motivation involves goals activity and last one goals provide the impetus for and direction of action. Action entails effort persistence in order to sustain an activity for a long period of time.Some strategies and teachiques in motivating students and also how to improve in motivating students. And also How and why should teachers need to motivated. Types of motivation •Intrinsic Motivation It occurs when people are internal motivated to do something because it either bring them pleassure . It focus on engage in a behavior beacause in personally rewarding not for external reward they think it is impotant that they feel that what learning is really important and significant. It is known that a self motivation are refer to influences that originate from with a person. Which the students or person act and learn so some infuences occurs self concept, self -esteem, self satisfaction personal values, personal and emotional needs. •Extinsic Motivation It occurs when student are compelled to do something or act a acertain way because of factors external to them. Its focus on behavior driven by external rewards such as money ,fame , grades and praise. It refers to outside sources or takes that influences a person to act or learn some outside sources are rewards, position or negative outcomes and comfort and dis-comfort. Some techniques and strategies for motivating student. 1.Promote growth mindset over fixed mindset Promoting growth mindset are the students who has abilities and talents that improve to learn. Growth mindset are the students that enjoying some challenges and see failures,struggles as necessary that considered as the part of thier growth . As a teacher a growth mindset students are more motivated to learn and gain some confident to show up their abilities and talents that they can doing well even they encounter some diffuculties until they become successful. While the fixed mindset are literally focus for what they learn with or without abilities that their mindset cannot changed. As my experiences for my student a fixed mindest sometimes they want to do what they like because they want to prove themselves that being away to some challenges or failures that may encounter ,fixed mindset varries their beliefs through hardwork. 2.Development meaningful and respectful relationship with your student. As a teacher you need to respect your student what they really want to do unless if it is not good them, building a good relationship to them are really important because that is the time that they can trust and easy to them to open up what they really happen to their lives or what they want do. As my experience if you have a good relationship to your student they fully respect and will catch their attention. They will be more motivated for thier studies and also motivated to achieve some activites and task that assigned to them so that they will show to you that everything is worth it, because of you as their teacher. 3.Grow a community of learners in your classroom. Students need a place or a classroom environment that is safe and comfortable to their study. So that teacher and students can learn willingly and must be interested to learn in every day and help to them for a learning process growth. Traditionally most of the teacher has struggle when it comes to the environment, as teacher also experience for the place that its not comfortable to study, but in order to become independent sometimes we need to experience that moment so that we do realized that education are more important so that we can come up for word “sucess”. Every student has thier own activity ,work and task so they should be independent and responsible to work. Learners need to be considered this to come up some problems so that it can develop with new ideas and together with the new things that they learns. 4.Establish high expectations and establish clear goals. Setting a higher standard of education are relevant to every student because they will tend them to expect a good education coming from you as a teacher. Teaching a clear goals to a student are really important to them so that they will be more encourage and independent to their studies setting goals to their study are more effective and effecient way of motivating them. 5.Be inspirational To be an inspiration to your students has a big impact to their studies,they will try to learn and think of it of how you become when it comes to teach descipline and manage to your students. Inspiration is the key of how the student will treat you as their teacher but not only with that sometimes they will treat you as a best friend or friend. It is a good motivaton to be an inspiration to them because they can have a open minded that everything is possible because of you. How to Improve students motivations. Every individuals has their own strength and weaknesses, teaching how to improve the learners or students and give encouragements to motivate are very important .The most important part is the motivation and once students has no fear or easily is motivated then it can be easily to successful in their life. It is need to apply for every students,so there are some examples and tips that may help them and how to improve, the first one is giving feedback with encouragement this simple way of motivation showing them that they are doing well are such an important that they need to hear some praising coming from the teacher also from the parents are such an important encouragement and boost their confidence has a biggest help to improve , in this case they will be more motivated and striving hard to achieve in every activities and different aspect of studies at thesame time their mindset. Next is offer some rewards to your students, as a teacher I always encourage my student’s to study well and get a higher result to their exams or doing some project and activies, I use to give them a deal that if they got a higher grades they a can have some rewards coming from me, also as a parent I do so for my son. And these kinds of motivations are very effective to them. The third one is make things fun and allow them to work together, students are easy to learn and improve if the teacher are doing things fun especially when the students sometimes aren’t paying attention in the class or else are not interested ,mostly in the classrom you need to do extra fun things when it comes to students giving them a games, jokes and fun talks that they can enjoyed the activities that more interesting are the best thing that the students will remember and also motivating and improving their skills and talents to improve.The fourth is be excited what you do to your students it reflects your appearance and vibes that they can get from you as their teacher, students are excited and motivated to learn if the teacher are more interesting and no pressure for their study, make them feel that study are enjoyable and fun. Next the is treat them with respect believing that every individual (teacher or students) deserves well respect. Students who are well respected it improves their characteristics and behavioral aspect. Lastly, make them to motivate and improve students who motivated by the teachers has a big impact to their studies. Students that who trusted to their teacher are motivated to learn and explore the differents kinds way of studies they can ask some question and don’t hesitate to ask, they always be motivated and achieve some goals that they want to. As a teacher and in my experience teaching them to be motivated has a big help to their studies thay can do in their own and being an independent student. Motivated students who are effective and effecient students are the competitive and sucessful students. How and why teachers should motivate students. Study Lead, Eneza Education according to him, Motivation is a psychological feature that evokes a desire to achieve a certain goal. Students have different goals on their studies. Teachers spend most time with students and should be able to motivate them towards achieving their goals. There are numerous ways that teachers can implement this. The first one is Rapport / constant communication keeping in touch and always update your student is key to knowing worries. As a teacher its our responsibility to ask some hard questions to our students asking if we can help them if some problem arise. It is very important that your student feel your comfort especially if the student’s has low self- esteem.Student’s sometimes needs attention to open up some hard time that they encounter and giving time to listen them. Next is Switching teaching strategies / materials as teacher it is require to do some different methods and teachniques for students not only to stick to one.Some of this methods are changing some books and activities materials that you use and present to them. In this strategies it can catch their attention and interested to learn and be excited for what’s new. Some of this you need to come up some demonstration and participation for checking if they can understand it varries also to the teacher if this strategy is effective to them because some repetitive method of teaching is boring to any student. As teacher you need to do some improvise things to make it new to there learning growth,encourage them to feel free and particiapate execute some group activities that make sure they can enjoy. The third one is very important to the student’s Reinforcement’s giving some rewards upon achieving. Every students loves to be praise especially if the teacher show their love to thier students . Students get motivated they are rewarded from there hardwork. Even a single praise they will appreciate and tried to achieve the goal. As teacher i give them some praising and reward such as presents,certificate of appreciation and some publish that they are in top achiever. The fourth one is Sanction it is a treats or favor until the task accomplished and achieving the goals. It’s motivating to students to push there abilities and skills.Teachers also must work to sanctions thesame as reinforcement . Some thought that we need to be careful if we use sanctions achievable to the students’s we need to be more careful against unachievable student’s and the opposite happens some student’s becomes demotivated because they feel left out or useless in the class. But sometimes even become resentful we need to explain and encourge to strive so by next time they can get some rewards.Lastly, Flexibility as a teacher you don’t need to be overly bossy. Kid’s sometimes observe there environment if they feel comfortable in this way as teacher you need to know their needs,thier soft spots and thier strong points and also their talent and skills.Teacher’s must be responsible in any kind opportunities because that is the time that you can assure the learning environment. An extra activity like surprising a birthday gift, rewarding a small things celebration or even to their performance giving some appreaciation gift it can be memorable to them to always remember that you care for them especially they feel your unconditional love. Motivation can direct behavior toward particular goals. Enhancing and boost their confidence and lead to improve performance. Motivation can lead cognitive processes, My research and studies about motivation are claims using intrinsic and extrinsic motivation may supply and benefits for every students. Apart from that motivation for student’s are really important it is also part for a daily routine how you encourage and motivating their studies. Some motivational strategies and teachniques into their instructional plan and skill to develop their learning process are involves, promote growth mindset over fixed mindset, development meaningful and respectful relationship with your student, grow a community of learners in your classroom, establish high expectations and establish clear goals and lastly, be inspirational. Those strategies of motivation for the students can help to establish their knowledge and behavioral process. And also some simple way of motivational improvement for the student’s are giving feedback and encouragements, offer some rewards,make things fun and allow them to work together and also need to be excited and the most important is treat them with respect. These improvements can helps also boosting their confidence and power of speaking as a decipline, independent and ethuastic students. Motivation also involved academic activity then using answers to these questions as guidelines for how students need to motivate. As a teacher motivating my students is my responsiblity to encourage and give the best for their studies. In my heart its my pleasure and pursuing my chareer its because of them sometimes i tend to give up , but in my mind they need me. Being passionate to motivate my students has a big impact to their studies you can see the improvements and being develop by using some strategies especially by hard work and loving them. Teachers also offer love and respect to students as for my studies and research it easy to them to adjust and feel comfortable to their environment if the teacher also has a kind hearted and patient.
