Nowadays teaching English has become important all over the world. In my opinion not everyone can be a good teacher who can educate children and adults effectively. An English teacher should have some important personal qualities. First of all, to be an English teacher you should have excellent knowledge of language, English grammar, language structure and, of course, methods of teaching because not every native speaker can teach children English efficiently. Secondly It's an ability to keep students' interest alive. To my mind, it is very important to entertain learners to facilitate learning process. You may know everything about methods of teaching, grammar rules and so on but students will be bored. As far as I'm concerned, I strongly believe that according to all the rules of teaching, methods and instruments, an experienced teacher should possess a unique teaching style, taking students' ages, gender and interests into consideration. A teacher and a student should be on an equal footing to avoid a barrier and fear. In this way I believe that it will help students to overcome difficulties. Continuing the topic I would like to add that a teacher and his students should be on the same page .For instance when you teach, for example, young learners you should explain grammar making up interesting and funny fairy-tales or stories. When you elicit new vocabulary , you use different flashcards, "reality" which can help your students memorize them quickly and remain motivated. On the contrary, when you have a group of teenagers, teachers try to find out about their hobbies, try to use their slang and words from their favorite games. In this manner a teacher shows that he could be a real friend who can help to get knowledge. For example, last year I had a group of teenagers and they asked me about a game 'mine craft". I did not know anything about it. They were surprised and upset. So I had to download this game. I used "mine craft" to explain the Present Simple Tense. Students were really amused! It helped them to acquire new skills. According to scientists, an English teacher should bring innovation in class. It includes an implementation of new ideas, principles in the process of learning English. Nowadays teachers should organize intercultural communication. They should know everything about English speaking countries and their culture and traditions. English lessons are not only supposed to be about new grammar and lexis. Equally important teacher's quality is patience. We all know that teaching and patience are related concepts. Not everyone can master their language easily. So a teacher should understand this and pay attention to students' learning styles and traits of character. If students do not understand something, a teacher has to select the best way of presenting information. In conclusion I would like to say that a real teacher should also dedicate his efforts mentoring his students and developing their skills. You don't have to have a genial talent to be a great teaching. The thing that methods the most is your experience and a sincere desire to educate people.
