classroom management is a very important task because it makes the class run smoothly and effectively and enchances students academic skills and competencies .it is the role of the teacher to inspire confidence in the students and should know when to be firm and when to be flexible. the are differents techniques the teacher can use to manage the class in a good way : 1-using eye contact gesture and voice to build confidence between the teacher and the students and to make sure they do understand what they are supposed to do and by using visual interest they can understand the meaning of the language , to make sure all students are involved in the class and also to maintain discipline. 2-grouping students:working as a group can motivate the students to learn better ,it build a good relationship between themselves and between them and the teacher and the students can have fun learning and it makes the teacher be in control of the class. 3-classroom arrangement:the teacher organize the position of the students and himself the way it makes the class effective depending on the activity like arranging the students in orderly row the traditional way or in circles and horseshoes or seperate tables . 4-writing on the board:usually the teacher spends a lots of time with his back to the class so in order to reduce that the teacher can use an overhead project ,prepare cards for vocabulary for the students or can writedown the work on the board before the class starts. 5-individual attention:the teacher needs to know his students ,their names who is a good learner and who is not so he can include all the students equally and don't teach only strong or weak students . 6-teacher talking time and students talking time :it is the teacher responsability to make a balance of that depending on the class activity and lessons because will talk more when giving instructions ,presenting and clarifying . 7-the instrcuctions given by the teacher needs to be in a simple language so the students knows what needs to be done.being consistent using the same words for the same instructions and with beginners teach them the necessary language and of course monitor the students to see if they are following the instructions given to them. 8-creating rapports between the teacher and the students and between the students themselves to see how successeful the class is .so rapports can make the students know each other's ,make them help each other's and the teacher must act in a positive way and show that he enjoy what he is doing. 9-maintaining discipline :the teacher should be in control of the class by being fair ,positive and consistent.of course maintaining discipline depends on many factors like the size of the class ,the age of the students and respect between the teacher and the students . in conclusion class management is an art ,so a good teacher is the one who can run the class with mutual respect , the students can learn and enjoy what they are learning and teacher have fun teaching them and at the end it is win win for the both the teacher and the students.
