This unit on productive skills - speaking and writing, was a helpful unit. In order to communicate and do it effectively, students need to know how to speak not only correctly, but accurately; and they need to be able to effectively write down their thoughts, ideas and opinions in a creative manner. This unit gave some great, fun ideas and websites for games to use to motivate the ESL student. While writing is not seen as important as speaking by many students for a variety of reasons, it is equally important for those students who wish to be writers of stories or news events or future novels or future TV and film screen writers. I myself love to write and feel that I can communicate effectively in this area, having written several short stories based on my personal experiences.
