I think that this unit was informative for teaching students both speaking and writing skills. While it highlighted the differences in these skills, it also emphasized the importance of each. I feel that I have learned a lot about how these skills impact the students' learning. While speaking requires more attention to fluency, it also allows for corrections to be quickly made at the time it occurs. With writing, the ability to make corrections is not as present. Accuracy is more important in this case so that the message can be clearly constructed. Lastly, I feel that I have picked up important concepts related to games. This unit highlighted how they can be used to effectively encourage student learning. As long as they are used correctly, they can allow the students to learn/practice important skills in a motivating/fun way.
