Unit 8 offers effective definitions and some suggestions on how to clear certain confusion for students regarding future tenses. Future tenses are useful in explaining events that will happen in upcoming time periods, making prediction (e.g. I think it will rain tomorrow morning), fixed plans (We are going to spend Christmas in Paris this December), action in progress in the future (e.g. I'll be swimming at 2pm next Thursday.), and etc. In summary, there are several future tenses and they are future simple (e.g. School will start again in September), future continuous (e.g. We will be watching a movie tonight), future perfect (e.g. Will you have done laundry 3 times after this one?), future perfect continuous (e.g. Lucy will have been being a nurse for 5 years after tomorrow.), "be going + infinitive (e.g. I am going to visit grandparents next week), present simple and present continuous.
