While probably more complex overall than past tenses, I find identifying the future tense slightly easier, mainly by focusing on the usage rather than the structure of the sentence. I think focusing on usage for future tense is probably the easiest way to teach the differences in structure. I found the suggested exercises and activities within the classroom to be an effective tool to demonstrate usage of future tenses and therefore the differences in structure. I think the exercises included are a great addition to the toolset for teaching tenses, and has given me some ideas to further improve my understanding of Past & Present tenses by focusing on the usage and type of activities they are used in.
