The unit explained and gave many examples of the future tenses, one of the most complex areas of the English language. The illustrations of the usages of each tense was most helpful because it was most helpful in identifying the different tenses. For example, the usages of of the future simple tense included promises, predictions and future facts and certainties. In comparing the usages with other tenses and using the example sentences, the differences in the tenses became more clear. Also the teaching ideas were very helpful and offered a wide range of activities to use with students in teaching the future tenses. Many of the suggestions could be used with various levels of English learners by changing some of the details of the assignments. The video was very good and clearly explained the usages that a teacher should be familiar with in teaching the future tenses. It also offered additional appropriate ideas and activities for teaching the information in this unit. It was good to be reminded that in teaching English and especially important in teaching tenses is to maximize the student talk time, make sure the students are using language freely with open ended answers and discussions, focus on the target language and use appropriate activities for the activate stage.
