Unit 8 continues with further discussions on one of the most complex tenses of the English Language which is the future tense. Unlike the two previous tense systems which have just four types, the future tense has a lot more with the most common ones being; the future simple, future continuous, the future perfect, future perfect continuous, be going+ infinitive, present simple and the present continuous. Despite the great teaching ideas, the unit provides, we must admit that these tenses could be very troublesome and so may pose some challenges when teaching. Tenses like be going+ infinitive, present simple, present continuous can be very confusing when used as future tenses not only for the learners but also for the teacher as well. Therefore, teachers may need to do further readings for better understanding and find suitable methods to teach their students putting into consideration the student’s level. Teachers may also need to consider teaching the tense in several classes making sure that students have understood and can successfully use a tense before moving on to the next tense.
