This introductory unit addresses course content over the course of six units including, teaching and learning theories, classroom management, syllabus development, lesson planning, career possibilities, etc. The unit defines \"young learners\" as children from the ages of 5 to 13 and addresses that children within this range learn differently than teenagers or adults. It also proposes some of the job situations that teachers to young learners can expect. This unit helped me think about the different reasons to teach young learners vs. adults and challenged me to imagine what kind of teaching situation I am looking for.
