This unit emphasized the importance of learning new vocabulary, especially in the early stages when students are eager to learn the basics words they need to communicate. The use of a language structure will be determined by the student's abilities and be in line with the syllabus. Students need to know the meaning of words, how it is used and the different forms it is used in. Language also consists of functions whereby students will be made aware of the different ways to approach a topic, eg formal or informal language. This can be made practical by using everyday situations relevant to the level of your students.
