This unit deals about pronunciation and stresses its importance. We firstly get a phonologic approach ie some elements about the science and physical properties of the sound. Then we are explained the intonation and the stress which are essential in the English language. Then we get a good overview of the phonemic alphabet which in theory helps us to give a phonetic transcript of all words. Finally the lesson explains all sounds, how they are constructed in the mouth, with which organ, if the vocal folds are used to form the sound. A chart is given to rank the consonants according the manner and place of articulation.
