I enjoyed reading through this unit because it reflected how I used to create lesson plans when I first started teaching with how I do it now. I have recently been a little worried that my simple notes as a replacement to a formally typed and multi-layered lesson plan was a sign of laziness more than an evolution of my understanding of how my class and students work. When I first started teaching I was very detailed about all the aspects of my lessons. At first I followed to closely to the lesson plan and sometimes cut activities short because of time constraints. As I taught more and more, my lesson plans become more outlines that fully written plans, until they become simple notes written before, in between and after the class. The ITTT example lesson plans and how to fill them out, were still extremely helpful, even though I have been teaching for 4 years already. I never thought about including an area for myself to improve in each lesson, and I also never thought to add any monitors to be aware of to my lesson plan. I will use the evaluation forms at the end of my next weeks lessons. This unit had a lot of good material.
