Unit 9 talks about lesson planning. The unit points out the importance of lesson planning, especially for inexperienced teachers, but it also reminds that a teacher should be flexible enough to change the course of a lesson whenever it’s necessary. Having lesson plans can be helpful because: it is a guide for what the teacher expects the students to achieve by the end of the lesson and how to make it possible; it helps to give a logical order to activities and to maintain a smooth lesson flow and times; it can be a record of what has already been done; it can be a record of problems or successes of various activities and ideas; it can be a record of what the teacher or students should improve or focus on. Furthermore, the unit gives some hints about writing down a lesson plan and gives some examples of activities and lesson planning.
