This unit covered the importance of lesson planning especially for the beginning teachers. Having a plan going to any job is a good thing/backup to have. This unit gave certain principles when writing a lesson plan, what it should have in order to help the teacher become more organized. Being organized is a huge skill for teachers to have since they deal with a load of paperwork/data to work with each day. It is a good practice to have learner objectives, personal (teacher) aims, and procedure to carry out the lesson while staying flexible to meet the need at that time. To calculate timing and how long each phase of the lesson might take can be something hard to master but so helpful to figure out how much to plan for each day. In addition to keeping a record fo what you taught (daily lesson plans), it is good to have a sequence of lessons, an overall plan, a unit plan, perhaps to have a goal, an aim to reach at the end of a certain period of time. It is also crucial for personal professional growth, it is also recommended to have teacher self-evaluation form to focus on the lesson itself (not the person) to assess what went well and what needs improvement.
