It is always painful to watch bad examples of teaching but I find it very instructive. The mistakes stick in my head and I am more able to catch myself slipping into one of them. A teacher's attitude makes or breaks a class. The more a teacher cares for the students and structures the class to benefit the students the more learning takes place. Some new teaching practices that I learned from the second video was to explain fully the procedure of an activity and to explain the activity in several different ways. Also, referring back frequently to the language goal and keeping the correct work on the board to the teacher and the students to refer to. There was good student talk time. I like the way that he had the students ask each other questions. It is a way for the student to use the language skills in context and a way for the teacher to monitor the comprehension of the students.
