Honestly, I will be very up front; this has been one of the most difficult yet intriguing lessons in this course. Phonetics have always fascinated me in the niggest way possible but I never had the opportunity to learn each symbol and sound per symbol. The rise and fall of speech (intonation), is very important in conversation to show how the speaker feels and communicate/queue for what comes next in speech or what theyre trying to imply. Also to trigger some feeling in order to trigger emotion in the person being spoken to. Stress and articulation can be quite important too in order to emphasize a certain part of word or sound within said word.
