This unit gives information about teaching pronunciation and philology. This subject is difficult not only for students, but also for teachers. Teachers often do not have confidence or knowledge to teach pronunciation. However, I think that teaching intonation, stress, rhythm and sounds are very helpful for the students. If their pronunciation is correct, they have more confidence. Only native speakers can pronounce sounds like native. However, there are many ways to help students improve their pronunciation - tongue twisters, visuals, peer dictation and so on. We should not bother students with difficult phonology terms, but instead we can give them engaging activities and try to keep it simple.
