This unit talks about RECEPTIVE SKILLS. In English language those are the reading and the listening skills and both are equally important to the students. Whether a learner will read or listen to something he/she listens for two reasons either for a purpose of getting information or instruction or just for entertainment. There are specialist skills to be able to be successful in this two receptive skills. Those are the predictive skills, scanning, skimming, getting detailed information, and deduction. ESA form of methodology in teaching these skills will vary from one teacher to another teacher depending on the language level of the students and their previous knowledge.
