This unit was about "prononciation", apparently the most neglected aspect of English langage. I gained insight about intonation which is considered to be the variation in volume and pitch in our sentence and stress which is more concerned with individual words. It was interesting to realise that intonation and stress in sentences could completely change what we intend to say and convey. Actually it carries the message in a sentence. The examples of ways showing how to indicate and teach intonation were very creative and interesting. In this unit I read also about where in words and sentences the stressed words could be put. this unit then explored the phonetic alphabet which was very interesting.
