Pronunciation is very important for English speakers. A couple aspects on this subject to keep in mind are intonation and stress. These will articulate what the speaker is trying to say more efficiently by emphasizing certain words. This can be taught by using gestures, tongue twisters, and articulation diagrams that show the inner workings of the mouth and throat. Phonetic symbols can be used as well in order to get the students thinking about the sounds more than the words themselves.
