This unit discussed teaching pronunciation and phonology. It gave techniques for teaching intonation and stress and discussed the 4 major ways that sounds are joined together in English. The main thrust of the unit was on learning and being able to successfully teach the International Phonemic Alphabet. I have been teaching phonics, but not the phonemic symbols, so the video on how to teach the phonemic alphabet was very helpful. It was also very helpful to look at articulation and the placement of sounds in the mouth. This was new material for me and very informative.
