In this unit I learned that receptive Skills’ (Reading and listening) are often contrasted with productive skills (speaking and writing). When learning a new language learners tend to develop their receptive skills first and then acquire productive capability. Some time we read and listen because we want to achieve a particular goal (that is reading and listening for a purpose) and also we read and listen for pleasure, enjoyment and jokes (that is reading and listening for entertainments)
