This unit focused on Receptive Skills, that is Reading and Listening skills. It talked about the main reasons and motives for reading and listening which is divided into two main categories;-for a purpose and for entertainment. It also spelled out a number of specialist skills when reading or listening which entailed predictive skills , specific information (scanning), general idea (skimming), detailed information and lastly deduction form context. In conclusion,the unit emphasized on problems with listening and reading which is in connection with the language contained in the text ,the topic and the tasks the students will perform.
