This is because English certificates or degrees are deemed to be a more prestigious qualification that will provide broader and better career opportunities for an individual rather than obtaining it from their own country. Additionally, after learning English as a second language, it will help individuals to communicate with other colleagues or team members in a workplace, which is very crucial. English skills would be necessary if people want to work in English speaking countries or workforces because they will need to understand the meaning of emails or documents and ensuring the quality of paperwork to avoid any misunderstandings or misconceptions. Especially nowadays, a business industry is usually comprised of people with diverse backgrounds, common second language of English plays an important role to establishing communication with others. Once barrier to communication is removed, work duties, projects or presentations that requires teamwork will be carried out more effectively and efficiently. Therefore, if a student obtains the ability of English, he/she would not come to feel intimidated and confused when collaborating with colleagues or negotiating with clients. On the other hand, since being proficient in English can provide better job opportunities local or abroad, this means the salary and financial benefits will also increase. According to statistics, the expected salary for employees with enhanced English earn an average of 18% more across sectors, geographic locations, and levels of experience (Kukat, 2016). The associated increase in salary demonstrates the importance of English in today’s highly globalized economy. Overall, English has a profound impact on people’s future prospect because it can enhance one’s quality of education, bridge the gap to communicate with people of different backgrounds, lead to greater employment opportunities, and increase in pay.
