I’m extremely grateful for the review of lesson planning. I learned a lot of useful things in this course especially lesson planning. Lesson planning is a significant element of teaching- learning system. First of all, a lesson plan is a step-by-step guide that provides a structure for an essential learning. It helps the teacher in maintaining a standard teaching pattern and does not let the class deviate from the topic. It tells teacher how the teaching should progress with contents of the lecture. It helps teacher ensure that the day-to-day activities that go on in their classrooms are providing students with an adequate level of long term progress toward the goals outlined in their scope and sequence, as well as their individual education plans when necessary. Secondly, lesson planning is a perfect time management tool in class room. A good lesson planning will help teacher lecture the important sections or a topic within prescribed time period. With this tool in your hand you will be able to teach with better sense of direction and control. There will a lot of free time focus on improvising your abilities as a educator. Thirdly, lesson planning can help you to become a confident teacher. With a lesson plan in your hand, teacher is clear on what needs to be done, how and when. The lesson will tend to flow more smoothies because all information has been gathered and the details have been decided upon beforehand. The teacher will not waste class time flipping through the textbook, thinking of what to do the next… So the teacher can save time to discuss with their students. Teacher can be able to make a particular lesson in a limited time frame. This will engage the student in communication and help them in retaining the lesson. Teacher will be come to be known as a confident teacher who is well-informed and highly knowledgeable faculty. Besides that, lesson planning set the anticipatory mood for students. In addition,with lesson planning, teacher has time to prepare flashcards,games, pictures, gifts, videos… at home. After that, teacher can use them in their lessons in school. It will help you to design class with different components to keep your student motivation and interest. This create a sense of expectation among students. Student realize that the teacher cares for their learning. They appreciate their teacher’s work as a model of well-organized work to imitate. Further more, with a lesson plan as a teaching tool, teacher can plan their lessons in the most purpose full manner. A lesson planning help the teacher to evaluate their teaching and to compare it with set objectives. This evaluation will help teacher in achieving the set targets in a better way. In conclusion, Lesson planning is important because it guide and tool for learning. Lesson planning is at the heart of beginning an effective teacher. Lesson panning serves as a historical document of what the teacher did in class. The teacher is able to look back, reorganize and update their lesson future usage. After I learned from this course, I also make lesson planning myself. I’m really interested in it. I feel that my teaching becomes easily and more effective.
