Why is it important to complete a TEFL course? The TEFL course is important because it teaches us to become better teachers, it teaches us how to do the job that we want to do correctly and how to pass on our knowledge to others correctly. Teaching other people is a very responsible job and there is no way that anyone can learn how to be a teacher overnight, it is something that must take time and a lot of effort. Many people pick teaching English as a foreign language as a job because they already know English so they think that it will be an easy option however they do not realise the commitment, effort and time that actually comes with it. They think that all it takes is to stand in front of a class and read from the board or textbook and that’s job done they don’t realize the responsibilities that come with in the job until doing the TEFL course. This course teaches so much and is such an important part of experience of becoming a teacher of English as a foreign language. It teaches us what makes a good teacher as well as a good student, it helps us understand lesson planning more and shows us the correct way to plan a lesson it helps us understand how to manage a class and how to teach students with difficulties as well as special groups not just individuals. The course covers 20 very important units and each unit has a whole written part for it where you read it all and learn from it but it also has a video in a listening explanation just in case the written part wasn’t enough and we still need to process it a little better. Becoming an English teacher was the hardest goal that I have achieved in my life so far. I don’t think that I myself realised how many responsibilities it takes, realised that the actual teaching part takes about 35% of the job with It comes the planning and of course learning how to become even better at what I’m doing. I became an English teacher before I started my online TEFL course and it was a nightmare I had no idea how to plan my lessons or how to manage a class it was a disaster at first and the worst part about it was that I had to learn most of it on my own as there wasn’t anyone available to help me everyone had their own classes to teach. I went online and looked for help when I came across this TEFL courses I thought to myself that this might not be a massive help but at least it will be some help just to get me started. Buying and doing this course had been such a great experience and a massive help in my teaching career. This course has truly taught me so much and as you start and get in to the course doing the unit test give you such a thrill I got so excited to see my results and to use my knowledge at work. The TEFL course has made my job a lot easier, more enjoyable and fun and it has made me a better teacher. Our students come to class knowing that we have their best interest at hart and will do our absolutely best to teach them in the best possible way so we must have some experience and qualifications in our career path. Doing the TEFL course was very important to me personally, I proved to myself that I can do whatever I put my mind to and with a little time and effort anything is possible.
