I have learned a number of things from this english course. Firstly, I was exposed to a variety of methods that apply to teaching english that I had never put any conscious thought to. Knowing the language involves a very intricate set of interrelated skills that make the use of the language easy for the user. Because I have been raised in a bilingual environment, learning both english and Portuguese from infancy, I have never actually realized consciously a number of aspects that make the language what it is. I also now understand the demarcation line between learning the language and being able to teach it. Teaching the language not only requires a certain level of mastery in it, but also the skills and techniques needed to implant the language in the mind of another. This course has helped me see that, and has equipped me with powerful tools to teach the language. I am planning to use my certificate to teach english primarily in Asia. I have always been interested in oriental cultures and lifestyles and it has always been a dream to experience it first-hand. I am particularly interested in china and japan, among all the Asian countries. So, to be able to go there and teach english language and immerse myself in the society would be quite an achievement for me. Apart from the orient, I also have interest in visiting a lot of eastern European countries like czech republic and hungary.
