Unit 11 is about teaching receptive skills that are reading and listening. All the basic skills are important and this unit focuses on reading and listening. These two skills are divided into two categories: reading and listening for a purpose, reading and listening for entertainment. We also have different skills when reading such as predictive skills, specific information and scanning, skimming, detailed information and deduction from context. In this unit we have problems with teaching and learning receptive skills and many ways how teachers can deal with them. At the end, the typical receptive skills lesson, patchwork, is very helpful and inspiring
