In this unit I learned about Pronunciation and Phonology. Intonation, words stress, sound joining, phonemic alphabet- those are all important components to teach to students. Phonemic alphabet is universal no matter where the person teaching English come from and their accent. Articulation is another subject to teach. Where do the sounds come from? what part of our voice box is involved in creating certain sounds? The speech organs and the place of articulation should be both considered. When teaching pronunciation, I believe it's better to incorporate a little at a time, especially if students keep making mistakes in a certain word or phrase.
