I am amazed at what I have learned about english. It has been 47 years since I studied english in college and I thought I knew english. This has given me the confidence that I need to teach english and to implement the methods and information acquired from the course. It has also helped me understand that just knowing english from a native speaker´s viewpoint is not enough in teaching english as a foreign language. The approach and the manner of teaching will be completely different so the student can understand who does not have a background in english as do most native speakers of english. I appreciate all that was given to me to learn, even though some of the units were frustrating to me. However, I did discover that allowing a day or two for the information to sink in , especially at my age of 68, that I could absorb it well and then do my worksheet. I plan to do mostly individual lessons and perhaps teach at one of the english schools in town a little bit. This was planned to give me contact with more people in town and perhaps to be able to contact them concerning our ministry. Mainly, this is going to give me a back up tool in case our finances from the states fall through because of a pending financial crisis. At least I should be able to teach enough to put food on the table.
