Well it has been hard work! I did enjoy it though. I relished the challenge of researching and reading about things we often give for granted, but instead are of great importance when teaching. I already have teaching experience, but I must admit that after this course I have a better and more profound understanding of those human beings called students. Sometimes teachers vest themselves with authority and fail to see what is really happening before their eyes. We need to be a little more humble and appreciate a little more the efforts made by our students and maybe in this way we will be able to get them to work better in a serene environment. Through this course I have certainly gained insight and more knowledge on skills and language awareness and on techniques that will be useful in teaching inside the classroom or to anyone who wants to learn english. Although being a native english speaker, I have learned a great deal about the english language, which I had either forgotten or never really considered why certain uses were that way because I just learnt them that way, but now I am able to explain them. I think that most of all I have learned various teaching skills which I believe can be applied to all areas of expertise in the future and not just restricted to teaching english. We are always more moving toward a globalized world and who knows where we might be in the near future and what we may be doing. english is the most commonly used language among foreign language speakers. Throughout the world, when people with different languages come together they commonly use english to communicate. I am certain that I will be able to use my skills and abilities to help someone, somewhere around the world. I have a dream!!!! I was born and educated in Zimbabwe (ex-Rhodesia) I had to leave that country, but my heart sill lies there, and one day I would like to return, who knows as a missionary not only to teach Christianity but also english. I have appreciated the ESA process that has made lesson planning easy to create with all the valuable tools given me. I have acquired the knowledge of who my students are and the skills to enable me to teach and lead them into a new adventure of learning the english language demonstrating that the use of that language will be of great reward to them in the fields of work and study. I am sure that with my TEFL/TESOL certification my curriculum vitae will be more valuable in having a European Union recognition to teach english not only here in italy, where I live, but also in different non english speaking countries. My overall opinion is that the course was very well structured and covered many areas which are necessary to enter a classroom, not only to teach, but to create valid relationships using the right attitude and self-confidence to teach from A to Z. I also retain that the presence of a tutor, as I had, is indispensable to carry out this online course, because he/she can be a valid guide in taking one through to the end giving useful suggestions and making the right corrections in difficult situations.
