Teach English in Jizhong Zhen - Zhoukou Shi
I have gained an immense amount from this course about teaching english as a foreign language. I have learned that there is an overall method to which everything is connected. From grammar, vocabulary, tenses, listening, pronunciation, writing etc., when teaching english as a foreign language that it all is delivered through a medium that helps students to truly learn and that is through ESA techniques. It?s like the ESA structure is the straw that stirs the drink for teaching english as a foreign language. I have learned the theoretical perspective of the ESA structure that really helped to give me an understanding of just how organized a teacher of english as a foreign language must be for every single lesson. I see that with practice and repetition of using the ESA format that it begins to make sense more and more and applying it helped me to much better understand exactly what I was doing with the lesson plans. I can only imagine that the ESA is a must and is necessary to be successful in teaching abroad. I will use ESA for every lesson plan that I design as a TEFL instructor. I realized also that the ESA structure requires different concentrations especially when it comes to the different levels of the students whether at the beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels. I have learned about various productive skills that can be taught by using games and easily incorporated into the ESA format. There were so many applications that I would like to use in my ESA lesson plans. Some of these games include Twister, Charades, Crosswords, Pictionary, Tongue-twisters, Jeopardy, Twenty Questions, etc. With so many of these games available it really helps to enhance the creativity in creating any lesson plan. Games are so important to involve the students in the learning of english as a foreign language especially since it enhances the ESA format. I plan to look further on the internet to find other games and resources that I can incorporate into my ESA lesson plans. It?s like there is an unlimited amount of resources to be discovered by searching the vast worldwide web. I look forward to finding these different resources/games to use. Plus children like to use games and games are fun so they will definitely help to make the ESA lesson plans more enjoyable and exciting and help to promote the best possible learning environment for the students.
