Without doubt, one of the most important learning points that I have gained from this course is the knowledge and ability to plan and structure lesson scenarios according to the ESA model. This knowledge gives me valuable guidance and a reliable framework whenever I embark on the task of preparing a class for myself. Another important gain is a myriad of teaching ideas, fillers, energizers and ice-breakers that I have extracted from the course materials. Furthermore, I have learnt the do?s and don?t of teaching various groups of learners and the necessity to adjust my approach according to the profile and needs of my students. The course has taught me how to manage a class and maintain classroom discipline, select course books and supplementary course materials as well as utilize a number of teaching aids. Although as an non-native I was already very well familiar with the grammar of english, I was glad I could revise my knowledge and most importantly learn about the variety of way in which grammar can be taught. I intend to use the knowledge I have gained from this course while working part-time teaching jobs in Asia Pacific and running training and workshops which are not related to language teaching but still involve a lot of direct interaction with students, social dynamics and group management.
