Teach English in Xinzhan Zhen - Zhoukou Shi

I have been teaching english to chinese students for the past three years and I have faced many challenges during this time. These challenges also provided me with an opportunity to explore this field further and know more about this. I have always believed in continuous learning and self improvemnet. This course rendered me an opportunity to expore this area and provided me with a valuable experience. During this course, I got to know many things about teaching english as well as my own role as a teacher. While completing different assignments, I realised that some were simple while others proved to a good challenge. I learnt many things during this course like how to group students, different types of assessment and evaluation techniques, rules of phonetics etc. Before doing this course, I used to divide my students into basic categories like beginners, lower and higher intermediates and advance level students. However, this course taught me how I can further categorise my students into different groups. This will help me to make my teaching even more affective and fruitful. Going through various grammar assignments was exciting and useful. These assignments taught me many points of grammar that I didn't pay much attention to before. I am going to put everything into use that I have learnt so far during this course. Especially, the assignment about phonetics and stress has helped me greatly. This has taught me the correct way to teach pronunciation to the students. I will be using various teaching ideas and activities to impart knowledge to my students and inspire them to be more participative in the lessons.
